About Us

RED KNOT RACING COMPANY

Our affinity for trail running and mountain biking, combined with our love for Tanzania, left us no choice but to organize world-class endurance events here.

We work hard to ensure our courses are unique and challenging, with the perfect combination of varied terrain and spectacular scenery. We learn the names of our racers, host race briefings around campfires, and never let your glass sit empty.

Red Knot exhibits true Tanzanian hospitality while organizing quality races that feel like family.

Our Purpose

ACCOMPLISHING GOOD

We founded Red Knot Racing Company, Red Knot Development, and Kilimanjaro Trail Run to make the world a better place, and we stand by that commitment. KTR puts 50% of all profits into development work, and our company as a whole contributes a minimum of 2% of our total revenue as well.

But it’s not just money we contribute; our staff personally assists farmers and youth to navigate the hardships they encounter. The power to motivate others towards lasting change comes from relationships.

We believe the solutions to the world’s problems lie in sacrificing ourselves in order to improve life for others. We hope you will join us in alleviating suffering and poverty in Tanzania.

Do hard things. Do them in community. Do them for community.

Our Namesake

The red knot bird nests in the high Arctic and winters around the globe. Red knots are found on six continents and can travel up to six days and nights non-stop. Some of these little flyers migrate over 18,000 miles per year.  The red knot is unparalleled as an international endurance athlete.
